Brian Van Camerik is the creator of the project Homosocial. As a queer artist guiding this project, he preserves vintage 19th and 20th century images of intimately interacting same-gendered couples. While the term homosocial doesn’t exactly mean homosexual, it’s a broader term describing queer engagement between two people. His project Homosocial celebrates homosociality by enshrining these tender images in bespoke, quasi-religious artworks.
